To make ice molds with silicone food safe you will need some essential materials:
Silicone Easyl 940-FDA Pink. It is a platinum silicone of shore hardness A 40, very easy to use and suitable for making molds of different foods, strictly complying with the instructions for use. It has very good heat resistance and an invaluable shrinkage. This silicone has a very low viscosity, which makes it flow very well to make the mold and that there are practically no bubbles in it. It is perfect for making all kinds of molds: for ice, sweets, candies ...
Release agent Acmos. To protect the silicone and not contaminate.
Pieces that we are going to copy to make our silicone mold. It may be the one you like the most. Let your imagination run wild!
Pen cardboard. To create a structure around the piece so that the mixture does not come out and is totally resistant.
Hot silicone gun. To glue the pen cardboard to the pieces so that there is a well-consolidated structure, so we will be able to correctly pour the amount of silicone without it coming out.
To start making our ice mold, we have to make a structure consistent with the feather cardboard so that the liquid does not come out and, then, glue the pieces that we have chosen to shape our ice.
For the mold we will use, as we have indicated above, the Easyl 940-FD Pink silicone, although you can also use the Easyl 925 FDA- Blue- Silicone- Food Safe, suitable to perform this same process. In addition, in Feroca you can find silicones for molds of different types, so you can perform almost any molding work.
Well, with the silicone food safe we have chosen for these molds, we have part A and part B. It is necessary that the measures of both parties are the same to prevent the mold from going wrong. After having the two parts ready, we mix them.
To protect the originals of the silicone and that it does not become contaminated, we use the Acmos release agent. Spray a little all over the surface, trying to reach all the nooks and crannies.
When this step is ready, we proceed to pour the silicone from a height of about 30 cm and pouring a fine thread to break all the bubbles that are going to be created.
Once the previous step is completed, the curing time is 3 hours.
Once the silicone is cured, we take it out of the formwork, remove the pieces and wash it well.
Before using it, the mold must be baked for 4 hours at a temperature of 100º. Then, you have to let cool and wash the cavity of the mold well with dishwasher soap. With this we will get it to heal completely and not be contaminated.
When it is fully ready, we pour water, chocolate or any liquid and put it in the freezer. Hours later we will have the inside of our molds ready for consumption.
