FLUMO is barbotine (clay in liquid state) without cooking, which dries in the air acquiring great hardness. It is used with plaster casts by the traditional casting system, achieving a piece of high quality and ceramic resistance. It is a very suitable material for crafts, especially for the world of dolls and miniatures.
In a liquid state, the product can be dyed with any conventional water-soluble pigment or dye. Once dry, it can be colored or varnished with any type of paint or varnish. It can also be polished, carved or perforated.
In accordance with European standard EN-71 and USA regulations (AP seal non-toxic product). It remains unchanged under its original packaging conditions for a minimum period of two years.
With regard to conventional clays used with the casting technique (lozas or porcelains), fluMO liquid clay does not need cooking in ceramic oven, as it dries in the air. The piece, once dried, can be colored or varnished.
FLUMO is not waterproof. It is not recommended to make objects that must contain water even if it is protected with a waterproofer.
• Store the product in a cool environment avoiding high temperatures. Do not store at temperatures below 0oC. If the product freezes, it loses its properties.
Can FLUMO liquid clay be used with plastic molds?
FLUMO liquid clay only works with plaster (porous) molds. The traditional casting method is that the mold capillary absorbs water from the barbine, forming a solid wall covering the inner face of the mold. If the mold is not porous, wall formation is not achieved. For this reason, plastic molds or silicones cannot be used.
Can FLUMO liquid clay be dyed?
FluMO liquid clay is white, making it easier to decoration once the piece is finished. However, barbotine can also be dyed en masse using conventional water-soluble dyes or pigments. This technique is especially interesting in reproduction of dolls, thus getting the desired skin tone.
What are the advantages of FLUMO liquid clay over conventional laundry or porcelain?
The main advantage of FLUMO over a snout or porcelain is that it DOES NOT NEED COOKING. In this way, significant energy savings are achieved in the realization of the piece and the large investment in the purchase of a ceramic furnace is avoided. FLUMO is an ideal product to use by any user who does not have a ceramic workshop.
