Polytek PlatSil Silicone was a revolution in the market when it was introduced more than 15 years ago. It has been imitated numerous times but never equaled in quality.
PlatSil Gel 10 is a bi-component platinum silicone that is easy to mix in equal parts, 1A:1B, and cures quickly and extremely reliably. It can be used for creating molds, props, masks, etc. By adding a corresponding Deadener it can be gelled for the creation of encapsulatedprosthetics and skins for animatronics.
The encapsulated prosthetics made with PlatSil Gel perfectly mimics flesh, much better than any other silicone on the market. Platsil Gel 10 is fast, easy to use, has a translucent shade and when mixed with pigments suitable for this type of silicone it recreates a perfect skin and flesh tone. Platsil Gel 10 is a relatively inexpensive silicone with which to achieve amazing makeup effects.
It can be thickened or thixotropic with PlatThix to be brushed on. It can also be slowed down to cure with the retardant PlatSil Retarder 71/73 R and perhaps most importantly, it can be softened with Smith's Prosthetics Deadener or PlatSil Deadener LV. PlatSil Hardener Part H can also be used to obtain a hardness of shore:A20
CAUTIONS:
Sulfur contamination (e.g., sulfur-based clay), amines, tin compounds, cured polyester resin, some paints and some silicone rubbers may inhibit the surface cure of platinum-cured rubbers.
