Polytek' s new FS-20 Silicone offers truly exceptional performance like no platinum mold silicone has ever had before.
Polytek' s FS-20 has a very fast cure time of 20 to 25 minutes, but with an extended working time of about 8 minutes, depending on ambient temperature which should be around 23 ºC
The ample time of work allows cast with comfort the silicone, besides being perfect to apply it to paintbrush since it has a moment of gel before the cure that does not hang up.
All this with an incredible resistance to tearing, it is practically unbreakable if we pull it in complicated demolding!
It is very easy to use as it is mixed in equal parts by weight or volume(1A:1B)
The transparent nature of cured silica makes it a good choice for molds that need to be cut after curing, as the model is visible and parting lines can be better determined. It is also very useful when making molds of complex parts to ensure that all hard-to-reach parts of the part have been filled with silicone. It is a silicone from casting, but can be thickened or thixotroped with PlatThix to be brushed on.
PRECAUTIONS:
Sulfur contamination (e.g., sulfur-based clay), amines, compounds from tin, cured polyester resin, some paints and some silicone rubbers can inhibit the surface cure of platinum-cured rubbers.
