Polytek PlatSil Silicone was a revolution in the market when it was introduced over 15 years ago. It has been imitated many times but never equaled in quality.
PlatSil Gel 73-15 is an easy to mix equal parts 1A:1B bi-component platinum silicone that cures extremely reliably in a Shore:A15 rubber.
The transparent nature of cured silica makes it a good choice for moulds that need to be cut after curing, as the model is visible and parting lines can be better determined. It is also very useful when making moulds of complex parts to ensure that all hard-to-reach parts of the part have been filled with silicone. It is a casting silicone, but it can be thickened or thixotropic with PlatThix to be brushed on
PRECAUTIONS:
Sulfur contamination (e.g., sulfur-based clay), amines, tin compounds, cured polyester resin, some paints and some silicone rubbers may inhibit the surface cure of platinum-cured rubbers.
